The XLI National Orchid Exposition was held during the first week of February of this year.  The organizer was the Guatemalan Orchid Association, and the event venue was the Jose Mariano Arzú Castillo Social Hall. BIOKREA participated in the Educational Stand category focused on conservation.  The Stand name was:  “Conservation of Endangered Orchids".  Several species of local orchids, which are grown in the laboratory, were displayed.  Also, a video illustrating the way in which these types of orchids are grown was available.  The First Place ribbon for the Educational category was awarded to our stand.  As a result of the work performed by the Judges of the American Orchid Society, as well as the Guatemalan Judges, the Educational Stand was awarded the trophy which is contested between the winners of the first places.
